Ron's Flick Picks - Week 9

I've been too busy saving the Galaxies of both Mario and Mass Effect to really have any other time on my hands. I'll be brief...and agree with Erik. Superbad and Psychonauts are all you need this week, especially since gamer season is officially over.

I think its impossible to hate Psychonauts. All of us here at FlickBlurbs have an unquestionable and deeply sentimental love for it. Brutal Legend '08!

I will say one thing about these XBox originals however...totally not worth the price of admission. With the exception of Psychonauts, all of these games are quite easy to find and actually cheaper in their game form, and all of them are backwards compatible on the 360 as well. At Gamespot, you can buy Fable for $9, Halo for $12, and Crimson Skies for a measley (and VERY well spent) $3!

HOWEVER, each of the games comes with an awesome set of gamer pics and themes. While I am keeping my limited edition Mass Effect theme, I couldn't help but make Raz my new gamer pic...it's hardcore...see?

Psychonauts and Crimson Skies are your best bets from this deal, but get a hard copy please unless you just can't find them. The original Halo is awesome as well of course and still my favorite in the series, but if you don't own it yet, I don't know what to tell you.

Erik's Flick Picks - Week 9

Another week and another set of picks. I have been rather behind on getting posts up this past week or so and want to change that. Hopefully I can get off my ass and get news on here as fast as I can read it, but we shall see. However, without further ado, Flick Picks....

DVD Pick:
Pretty easy pick this week, Superbad. This DVD release sneaked in under my radar as I just noticed it was released today......the day of its release. However, I can say that this movie is hysterical. Though it might not be a stronger film then Knocked Up, Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow have hit a home run once again with a fantastic high school comedy. I am also a sucker for Michael Cera starting way back in the Arrested Development days....WATCH THAT SHOW!

Check the trailer for Superbad below. 'Nuff said

Game Pick:
About 2 weeks ago I was did a shout out for Psychonauts, one of the best games released in the last 5 years. Well I am back to relay the same message....play this game. Today, Tuesday, saw teh release of the new Xbox Live. Included in the update, along with all the fine touches to the menus, are Xbox Originals, 7 or so games you can purchase and store on the hard drive of your system. Psychonauts is one of those game, and arguably the best one offered (move aside Halo). So everyone reading this, do yourself a favor and buy this game. It comes out to roughly 15 bucks through the Xbox Live Marketplace, a good deal considering finding a hard copy of the game will cost you anywhere from 25-50 bucks because of its rarity. You WILL NOT find a better new release this week, so why not settle up with some hot chocolate and enjoy one of the best games ever made.

LONG LIVE THE MILKMAN!
